Brittany Farms Health Center
Brittany Farms

Brittany Farms Health Center is a 282-bed skilled nursing facility dedicated to its residents' care and rehabilitation needs and is a member of the Hospital for Special Care community. Established in 1968, Brittany has grown to boast a state-of-the-art subacute unit known for its excellence in subacute rehabilitation, a Special Care Dementia Unit, and a Long Term Care Unit. The facility also offers:

  • Outpatient rehabilitation
  • Respite care
  • Hospice services

Brittany Farms Health Center is JCAHO-accredited and accepts Medicare, Medicaid, long-term care insurance, and participates in many managed care programs. You may contact our Admissions Department for more information or to arrange a tour.

The Center is conveniently located in New Britain off Route 9 and Interstate 84, less than two miles from Westfarms Mall.

Long-term Care

Personal preference and individual ability determine what a resident's typical day is like at Brittany. Residents choose their own meals, participate in their own resident care conferences, serve on the Resident Council, and participate in any number of varied activities.

Staff at Brittany work as a team to help new residents make the transition into our nursing home and we take pride in the close relationships that follow. Dedicated caregivers, social workers, rehabilitation and recreation specialists are just a few of the support resources available to residents.

Special Care Dementia Unit

This very special, self-contained unit, has dedicated staff trained in understanding that dementia is not a disease, but an illness characterized by a decline in cognitive abilities. Our goal is to create a supportive, safe environment that manages behavioral symptoms without use of physical and chemical restraints. It is a warm, predictable, homey space that is enjoyable and stimulating for residents.

Outpatient Rehabilitation

We specialize in services for those who have had a joint replacement, fracture, stroke, accident or illness. Our physical therapy, occupational and speech therapy services are available in our well-equipped and attractive gym. We offer convenient scheduling options, and therapy is administered by licensed professionals as ordered by personal physicians.
